CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - There’s nothing like summer days in Charlotte, check out what’s happening around the Queen City this weekend.

Rally Fest (Rally Pickleball Charlotte), Friday 5 to 8 p.m.: Whether you’re an expert pickler or have been wanting to get active in the fast-growing sport, take part in a celebration of all things pickleball. Join hundreds of picklers in an exciting pickleball party with unique challenges, pros and even pickle pong. The party continues with a live DJ, prizes, raffles, food and drink specials and more. Admission is $15.

Fairies in the Forest (UNC Charlotte Outdoor Botanical Gardens), Friday 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.: Bring your wings for a magical evening through UNC Charlotte’s beautiful Botanical Gardens. Discover pixie dust around every corner with illuminated trails, fairy meet-and-greets and plenty of forest fun. Don’t forget to pack your walking shoes as this is an outdoor event. Tickets are $5 each with timed entry.

Tacos ‘N Taps (Ballantyne’s Backyard), Saturday noon to 5 p.m.: Take a bite out of some of the best tacos in town. Over a dozen taco trucks and restaurants will come together to give you a taste of the southern border. To wash down the delicious bites, attendees can enjoy an all-you-care-to-taste beverage samples including local breweries, ciders, wine, tequila and margaritas. Enjoy live mariachi music, games, a dueling margarita bar, games and more. Admission starts at $25.

Shop the Yard (Victoria Yards), Saturday noon to 6 p.m.: Looking for a unique way to spend your afternoon? Stop by the ultimate pop-up shop with over 20 local vendors selling food, jewelry, art, pet supplies and more along with live music and games in a colorful outdoor venue. If you’re still feeling hungry, just head across the street to the Market at 7th for even more local bites. Admission is free.

Cornelius Jazz Festival (Smithville Park), Saturday 6 to 10 p.m.: A quick drive up north will take you to the smooth sounds of terrific local jazz. Originally slated for May, the festival was rescheduled for this weekend due to rain. Enjoy the music and vibes of Holly Hopkins Jazz and Jay D. Jones. You’ll also find a food truck rally, beverage and local vendors. Admission is free and guests may bring their own chairs and blankets.

Charlotte FC vs. New York FC (Bank of America Stadium), Saturday 7:30 p.m.: Soccer is back in the Queen City with Charlotte FC taking on New York FC. Fans arriving early can get a free giveaway limited-edition CLTFC Sir Minty collectable. Tickets start at $39.

Carolina Ascent FC vs. Lexington SC (American Legion Memorial Stadium), Sunday 2:30 p.m.: Women’s soccer has finally arrived in Charlotte with the Carolina Ascent FC. After a sold-out match against DC Power in their inaugural game at the American Legion Memorial Stadium, they will take on Lexington SC in their next home match. Tickets start at $15.

Disney’s The Lion King (Belk Theater), ongoing: Come relive the “Circle of Life” in Disney’s smash-hit musical that continues to break box office records on Broadway. From the songs you love like “Hakuna Matata” and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” to the creative puppetry that has dazzled millions of audiences worldwide, Disney’s The Lion King is still the musical that roars above the rest. Tickets start at $35.

CLT Burger Week (various locations), through Sunday: It’s the final week for a delicious deal on burgers from some of the city’s hottest restaurants. Select one (or two or more) specialty burger from over two dozen restaurants for only $7. Restaurants include Bradshaw Social House, Ri Ra’s Charlotte, Mac’s Speed Shop and more. The deals don’t stop at the burgers. Many of the spots will include drink specials as well.

Looking ahead:

UNCF Walk for Education (Symphony Park), October 5: Get those laces ready for the inaugural UNCF Charlotte Walk for Education to kickoff the HBCU homecoming season. Funds raised will help benefit local students attending HBCUs in North Carolina.
